Good scarce example set on a red enamel ring, silvered winged propellor with black enamel swastika to centre. Reverse with two double blades.

After WWI Germany was forbidden an air force by the Treaty of Versailles however the Deutscher Luftsport-Verband (German Air-sport Association) was formed in March 1933 from various sports flying clubs and had branches for aeroplane, gliding and balloon flying. Under cover of the sporting DLV, many future Luftwaffe pilots trained to fly. DLV was embodied with the NSKK in March 1935 and 1st March 1937 Luftwaffe formed.
