Formed 1st August 1941 in Palestine from the 1st Cavalry Division. Fought at the Battles of Alam Halfa and El Alamein. Disbanded 15th June 1944 in Egypt. Fox's mask sign adopted as representing the hunting tradition of the formation's cavalry and yeomanry units.  read more
